Can the blood test show the pregnancy?

To determine early pregnancy, the study of chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) is used to monitor the time and course of pregnancy. Its accuracy reaches up to 98%. The hormone HCG in non-pregnant women is not detected at all. In pregnant women, during early pregnancy, the level of HCG doubles every 2-3 days if the pregnancy is smooth. The hCG test can be performed 3-5 days after possible conception or the disappearance of menstruation.

This study shows both an uterine and an ectopic (ectopic) pregnancy – when the fertilized ovum is attached not in the uterus, but in the fallopian tube, cervix, ovary, abdominal cavity, therefore, a consultation with a gynecologist is recommended.
